WHITE WINE

                                                                                                                                                                                  175ml         Bottle

123   DOMAINE FOURREY, CHABLIS 1E CRU, COTE DE LECHET, 2015                 £12.50        £52.00

Burgundy, France

The Fourrey Brother and Sister team tend to make a citrusy, flinty style of Chablis.

Concentrated green melon palate but with attractive stoney and mineral associations.

Long, clean finish.

121  FRANCIS BLANCHET, POUILLY-FUME, SILICE, 2016                     £13.50       £55.00

Loire Valley, France

From a small block on very flinty soils in the heart of the appellation. Hints of lemon peel and

hawthorn blossom – it’s textured and irony, with citrus and asparagus notes. A splendidly long finish,

with a peppery sense of minerality, indicates its class.

125   DENIS CLAIR SAINT AUBIN BLANC 1er CRU, LES CHAMPLOTS, 2014    £16.00        £65.00

Burgundy France

Champlots lies on a south west facing slope above the hamlet of Gamay with calcareous soils

that imbue its wines with a definite mineral edge. Stylish, rounded, compelling aromas.

Very finely honed lily and oatmeal palate, elegantly balanced with such a long finish.

RED WINE                                                                                                                                                       175ml           Bottle

215    DOMAINE JEROME GRADASSI, CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE, 2014             £16.50        £68.00

Southern Rhône, France

Terrific aromas of liquorice, cinnamon and herbs – a real sense of the garrigue, the herby scrub

around the vineyards.Classic melange of red and black fruits, backed with just enough tannin

for grip but not obtrusive. Lots of peppery spice with a  fine red fruit finish.

216    BEGALI, AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO, 2012                     £20.00        £85.00

Veneto, Italy

Very pure mélange of berries and spiced plum, not that raisiny but with plenty of tannin

and acid to make this perfectly suitable to drink with red meats.

218    MARGAUX, CHÂTEAU DEYREM-VALENTIN CRU BOURGEOIS,2014        £17.00        £69.00

Bordeaux, France

Scents of brambly fruit with a lead pencil note. Ripe, rounded and supple. Textured but

not heavy at all. Lovely balance and depth.
